The Beginning...
From a simple idea sketched on a napkin in 2012, Pat Richards of Great Plains Health and Karen Bowlin of Mid-Plains Community College ignited a vision: a local EMS conference for North Platte. Leveraging available resources and fueled by the generosity of volunteer instructors, they pioneered one of western Nebraska's first free EMS conferences, a testament to their dedication to local EMTs.

Awards and Recognition
The Flat Rock EMS Conference is committed to celebrating excellence within Nebraska's EMS community. We are pleased to continue our recognition program with the following award categories:
EMS Mentor of the Year: Open to nominations from anyone, this award recognizes an outstanding mentor within any EMS department.
EMS Department of the Year: This award, nominated by a Physician Medical Director, honors a department demonstrating exceptional medical care and service.
EMS Medical Director of the Year: Anyone may nominate a Medical Director for their outstanding involvement and leadership in their EMS system.
Department Recognition Award: This award highlights an individual selected by their own department for recognition at the conference.
